11th Annual – Anthem Days!

by Scott on March 19, 2010

You know spring has arrived when March Madness is on the TV, little leaguers are grabbing their parents to throw a baseball outside and Anthem Days is here! Anthem Days is our community spring celebration set for Saturday 20th and Sunday the 21st at Anthem Community Park. It consists of carnival rides, games, the kid zone, contests, food and drink, the Easter Egg Hunt, the business and arts and crafts fair, pony rides and live music. This year there is a basketball skills challenge, golf putting contest and interactive displays.

Anthem Days has been a family favorite for 11 years. Kettle corn and the beer area were not mentioned because there are some things you just have to experience! Being here for all eleven provides you with some insight as to where to save yourself time and money! The carnival is here from Thursday until Sunday and they offer discounts usually on Thursday and Friday and early afternoon on Saturday. Usually saves dad about $30 in tickets. The weather has always played an important role. When it is warm make sure you drink lots of water and when cold layer to be comfortable throughout the day. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as well! A very important tip is if you are looking to buy a home or rent a home in Anthem call us! :)

This year a booth will be available to donate to provide Jerri and Steve Boyer, co-owners of Legend’s Bar and Grill our community’s support. Their daughter Olivia was severely burned on Saturday and was airlifted to Maricopa County Burn Center. She is now recovering from one of SEVERAL surgeries that she will need over the next several weeks. She is in for an extended hospital stay and long recovery process. Come help the family out!

Working at the donation booth for Anthem Days I was reminded of another great thing about Anthem – Our Community’ heart to serve others. Working the booth with my daughters and their friends and other volunteers I was proud of the number of people that went out of their way to find the booth and donate. They had already heard of the need and were there to help. Thank you all. Another article on the way to thank those people that went above and beyond. – Scott
